Today is my birthday, and how do I want to spend it? Writing to you all. I turned 42 today, and my new hobby is writing. Writing has led me to join X, where I can connect with like-minded people and belong to a community that shares a passion for small businesses. 

On May 23rd, I joined X. After sharing a few threads on how I accidentally started and scaled an online school, and things went wild. After 2 weeks on X, I invested in Ship 30for30—a writing course that has helped me realize how I needed to share my thoughts and trade school blueprints. One week after starting the writing course, I was crazy enough to start a newsletter about Trade Schools and the WIOA grant.

Things got even crazier after I was invited to be on five podcasts and featured on the famous Starter Story platform. Writing has led me to have over 15 calls from people everywhere wanting to start their own online school. Writing has helped me connect with over 30 people trying to get access to the WIOA grant.

Why Trade Schools are Your Best Bet

The demand for skilled trades has skyrocketed over the past decade. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment in skilled trades to grow by 10% by 2030, adding over 3 million new jobs. This surge creates a constant need for quality education in trades like HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.

But don't just take my word for it—look at the numbers:

- 85% Profit Margins: Our school recently achieved 85% profit margins, demonstrating the incredible financial potential of trade schools.

- High Enrollment Rates: in 2024, we brought in $2,371,000 in new enrollments with zero ad spend.

- Sustained Growth: Our school’s monthly target is $180-$200k in enrollments, and this month, we’re already at $78k. All this, managed from behind a laptop, wearing shorts and flip-flops!

Celebrating Success and Future Plans

Good news! Five people have decided to take action and begin their first steps toward opening their own online trade schools. I will be sharing their journeys with you all. As I’ve said before, even if I helped 20 people in each state open up a school, there would still be a shortage of schools. However, I will cap this opportunity to 4-5 people per state.

I will also start interviewing school owners and sharing how I help and coach them. Additionally, I’ll share wins from folks getting access to the grants and where they land with their new careers.
