The Chilling Truth: Why We Need More HVAC & Appliance Repair Schools

29 weeks down in the books - thank you!
🔥 Can you believe it?! This is newsletter week 29, and we’re about to break 1198 subscribers—amazing! Even crazier, 211 of you have taken the leap and started the WIOA process. And get this—my X account just crossed 6720 new friends. Who would've thought building a brand around trade schools could be this exciting?
We need more trade schools, period.
As we cozy up in our climate-controlled homes, it's easy to forget the unsung heroes who keep our appliances humming and our air conditioners purring. But here's a frosty fact: there's a growing shortage of HVAC and appliance repair technicians. This is partly because some states lack trade schools.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to grow 9% from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Yet, despite this sizzling demand, certain states are lacking training facilities. States like West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and Michigan have fewer training programs for these essential trades.
This shortage isn't just a minor inconvenience; it's a ticking time bomb. Without enough skilled technicians, who will we call when our refrigerators decide to take an unscheduled vacation or when our heaters give us the cold shoulder?
Investing in more trade schools, especially in these underrepresented states, is crucial. This will provide stable, well-paying jobs and ensure that we can maintain the comforts of modern living.
So, the next time you adjust your thermostat or load your dishwasher, remember the importance of these skilled professionals. Let's support the growth of trade schools and encourage a new generation to take up the tools of the trade.
Stay cool (or warm, depending on your HVAC settings),
Until Next Time
Control what YOU can control, take action, and don’t forget to smile.
