STEM schools are everywhere. Trade schools? Damn near extinct. Why?!

The STEM School Problem
STEM schools exploded over the last decade. Tech this, code that. And now? A ton of them are for sale. Why? Because they’re run like franchises, not by people who actually care about the industry. It’s a business model, not a mission. And when the hype fades, so do the schools.

Meanwhile, in the Trades…
Trade schools aren’t franchises. You can’t slap a logo on one and call it a day. These schools are built by people who actually know the trade or share the passion of impacting lives. We need more Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, welders, IT techs school owners who care about the next generation.

Businesses are desperate for skilled workers. Some SMBs (small and medium-sized businesses) are even starting their own training programs to attract talent and add additional revenue.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

• Trade school enrollment is up 13.6% this year. (Yeah, while college enrollment keeps dropping.)

• Skilled labor shortages are so bad that companies are literally begging for workers with bonuses and extra benefits.

• The average trade technican makes $60K+, and you don’t need six figures in student debt to get there.

Bottom Line

STEM schools were the “next big thing,” but it turns out you can’t franchise your way into real education. Meanwhile, trade schools are booming because they actually serve a need.

The world runs on skilled labor, not PowerPoint slides. Time to start treating trade schools like the gold mines they are.
